In the News

Nothing quite says “Christmas,” in the imagination of the very young, as the lighting of a tree. In Lexington, the annual lighting of the tree at the Beech River Museum, will take place on December 8, at 5:00 p.m. A long-standing tradition, the tree lighting marks the beginning of the Yule Tide season for many of the city’s residents.

If you have walked through downtown lately, or even driven with your windows down, you may have heard the chimes, at First Baptist Church, peeling out your favorite hymn. The old controlling unit had been damaged, so the chimes were down for a while.  Now computer with six hundred or so hymns, along will wedding bells, funeral tolls, and chimes. And not to forget my favorite, the Westminster Chimes that ring in the hour.
