Animal Control - Dog with Collar

Mission

To provide animal control services to the public in the most effective, efficient and courteous means possible. We will provide professional, proactive enforcement of Lexington City Ordinances and the State Statutes pertaining to animals. We will promote responsible pet ownership by individual contact and community outreach programs.

Our Goal

We envision the day when all citizens, their property and neighborhoods will be safe from the dangers and nuisances of irresponsible pet ownership; when animals will not suffer because of human abuse, neglect, or ignorance; and when pets will be spayed or neutered to prevent the destruction of healthy, well-adjusted animals.
