The Municipal Court serves as the judicial arm of municipal government. The Court hears cases and sentences offenders for violations of city ordinances (Municipal Code for the City of Lexington). These cases include violations of criminal statute, traffic regulations, local code violations, abatement of nuisances, business regulations, housing regulations and environmental issues.
Lexington Municipal Court Clerk’s office is located at 88 First Street. The Municipal Court Office co-located with the Lexington Police Department and the Lexington Fire Department. General operating hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Municipal Court sessions convene on Tuesday nights at 5:00 p.m. on the appointed date. The Municipal Court building is located at 17 Monroe Ave, 2nd Floor. Please be advised when attending court that cell phones are to be placed on silent and caps/hats are to be removed upon entering the building.
