Mission Statement
It is the mission of the City of Lexington Public Works Department to bridge the gap between the public and City government by being receptive to the needs of our community; to get back to the basics of when a day of hard work meant something to people and to take pride in that work; to be innovated and on the cutting edge of new technology to lead our City into the future; and, to make sure that when we look back we have never let a single day pass us by due to indecisiveness and lack of enthusiasm.
Services
Lexington Public Works is comprised of four departments and provides a wide range of services for the City and its residents including street paving and maintenance, street signs, street right-of-way maintenance, storm drains, street sweeping, traffic signal maintenance, garbage collection, leaf and brush collection, city fleet maintenance, city park maintenance, and recycling. The departments also assist other City departments in their service to citizens, businesses and industries.
